2017 Summer Institute for Educators Canada 150: Where Are We in Art Education? July 11 - July 14, 2017
It's back! After the huge success of our 2016 Summer Institute, join us for an inspiring, national, four-day, 2017 AGO/CSEA Summer Institute for Educators at the AGO this July 11 - 14, 2017, as we explore the timely theme Canada 150: Where are We in Art Education? As Canada celebrates its' 150th birthday in 2017, participants enrolled in the Institute will critically engage with the issues faced by art educators in 21st century elementary, secondary, post-secondary, community and gallery/museum settings. The Institute will again include inspiring speakers (ie. curators, artists, educators and directors) from the AGO and from the vibrant Toronto art community, opportunities for in-depth and enlightening dialogue as well as selected, hands-on studio activities. Site visits to two other institutions will further enrich and broaden the scope of this unique professional development experience. Institute costs include a daily program of speakers, all gallery excursions, access to the AGO permanent collections as well as the summer 2017 temporary exhibition, Georgia O'Keefe, materials for hands-on art activities, light refreshments and an opportunity to socialize and celebrate with new colleagues and friends on a beautiful Toronto Island Boat Cruise.
